Find an Apartment in Las Palmas Before Anyone Else

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has become Europe's digital nomad capital. Year-round spring weather (20-26°C), fast internet, affordable rents, and a laid-back island lifestyle attract remote workers from across Europe. The market is competitive for furnished apartments in popular areas but still far more affordable than mainland hotspots.

The Las Palmas rental market in 2026

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has become a magnet for remote workers and digital nomads thanks to its year-round mild climate. The median flat rents for about €901 a month, with the citywide average nearer €1,360. Las Canteras, the urban beach, is the most sought-after area; Vegueta (the old town) and Triana are central; and La Isleta, near the port at around €18/m², is gentrifying fast.

Because demand mixes locals, remote workers and short-stay nomads, flexible one-month-plus supply exists, but genuine long-term flats are scarce and move quickly. Have your NIE guide ready and read our tenant rights guide before you commit.

Tips for Finding an Apartment in Las Palmas

1. Furnished vs unfurnished. Digital nomads drive massive demand for furnished apartments, especially near Las Canteras. Unfurnished apartments are 30-40% cheaper and more available — worth considering if you're staying 6+ months.

2. Internet quality varies. Most of Las Palmas has excellent fiber internet, but check the specific building. Some older buildings in Vegueta and Triana have slower connections. Always test before signing.

3. Island logistics. Everything costs slightly more on an island. Factor in that furniture, large purchases, and even some groceries have shipping surcharges. But flights to mainland Europe are cheap and frequent.
